Roof Insulation

Roof insulation is the process carried out to protect the heat loss that occurs in buildings and occurs between 20% and 25% of the total heat loss. This heat loss causes the buildings to be kept cool during the summer months. In short, roof insulation is a useful renovation work that helps to increase or decrease heat loss as a purpose of use. Residential roofs are divided into two groups as cold and hot. Among these roof types; There are different types of structures such as roof terrace, gable roof, hipped roof, porch and flat roof. Among the roof types with a slope, there is more insulation surface in the vertical section formed due to the slope. This means that more insulation materials are required than flat roofs. The reason why thermal insulation is the first choice in the roof insulation renovation process, without the need to heat the roof space, the material covering the floor minimizes the heat loss that will occur.

Roof Insulation Materials

Roof insulation materials are materials that are produced by passing many tests and gaining resistance against various damages, as well as preventing heat loss. These materials are;

  • Glass wool
  • Rock wool
  • Extruded Polystyrene (XPS)
  • Expanded Polystyrene (EPS)
  • Spray Polyurethane Foam Roof Insulation

It is located as This process is done according to the shape that is suitable for the roof structures and dimensions of the houses.

Glass wool is one of the methods in which roof insulation material is used with the help of inorganic materials melted at 1200 to 1250 degrees by transforming silica sand into fiber form. Although not in terms of heat conduction, gases are very suitable materials in terms of insulation. While the porous material called mineral glass wool prevents heat loss, it is produced in such a way that it cannot be damaged by microorganisms. This material will not rot or rust over time, and it is also resistant to temperatures of 250 degrees. This material is an environmentally friendly material that is used to reduce noise as well as heat insulation and reduces fossil fuel to zero.

Stone wool is obtained by fiberizing volcanic basalt stone melted at 1400 to 1500 degrees. It is a 97% natural fiber thermal insulation tool. This material can be used in all kinds of sound insulation, terrace roofs and fire resistant structures.

Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) is in the conductor group between 0.30 - 0.40 and its usage degrees are between 75 and -50. It is in the B1 fire class. It has high durability with its homogeneous structure with fully closed pores.

Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) has a maximum value of 75 degrees. It is in the B1 fire class.
